APM7 Fleet Takes the Lead in Full E-Payment Coverage! Specify Payment Method Upon Reservation

Responding to the Transport Department's new policy effective April 1, 2026, the fleet has completed e-payment configuration for all vehicles ahead of schedule, delivering cashless travel convenience to passengers

As the Transport Department of Hong Kong announces the statutory requirement that "all taxis must provide electronic payment services starting April 1, 2026", APM7 Fleet officially declares that 100% of its operating vehicles and drivers are now fully equipped with and support e-payment functions. Having met the new policy standards ahead of the mandatory deadline, the fleet allows passengers to enjoy cashless travel convenience without waiting for the regulation to take effect.

It is understood that the new Transport Department policy mandates taxi drivers to provide at least one QR code payment method (such as Alipay, WeChat Pay) and one non-QR code electronic payment method (such as Octopus Card, credit card), with offenders facing a maximum fine of HK$5,000 and imprisonment for 6 months. APM7 Fleet has already completed the full-scale upgrade ahead of time, and all current vehicle models (including Toyota Comfort Hybrid, SAIC Maxus MIFA 7, Geely Farizon E5, and Toyota Noah wheelchair-accessible taxis) are compatible with a variety of mainstream electronic payment channels, catering to the payment habits of local and overseas passengers. Whether it's Octopus Card, WeChat Pay HK, or PayMe preferred by Hong Kong residents, Alipay or WeChat Pay familiar to mainland tourists, or UnionPay QR Code and credit cards commonly used by international visitors, all are supported seamlessly.

A representative of APM7 Fleet stated: "E-payment not only complies with the government's requirement to improve taxi service quality but also addresses passengers' pain points such as insufficient cash and trouble with change. It also saves time for drivers and reduces the risk of cash loss. By completing the e-payment layout for the entire fleet in advance and launching the reservation-specified function, we aim to provide a smoother travel experience for local citizens, mainland tourists, and international visitors through more thoughtful arrangements."
